Go Hyper Local
😆 My first time at an in-person event hosted by San Jose Chamber of Commerce. Didn’t feel too awkward as it was very casual and fun!
🐦 What time do the Chamber staff members wake up?! The event started at 7:30 AM! Special thanks go to three of these early birds, Tanya Morales, Evie Trojan and Danny B. Acevedo!
🥺 Of 8 cool people I was fortunate to talk to, Deanne Everton, MSSW, ECHM from Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley deeply moved me with her team’s beautiful work.
🎁 I sat right in front of the speaker, and contrary to my worry that I might be bored, I realized how engaging a talk on social justice and public policies can be! Supervisor Susan Ellenberg's messages about small businesses, housing, childcare were very relevant to me that I felt like I was receiving an unexpected gift! I was so mesmerized that I forgot to eat breakfast at the “Breakfast with Chamber.”
💎 My personal takeaways:
- So many wonderful people, many of them early birds, live in Santa Clara County.
- Silicon Valley’s diverse community will greatly benefit from hyper local communications from businesses and organizations.
- A wake-up call for Culture Flipper to serve not only the global community but also the local #communities.
Many thanks to Alex Caruso and Andre Gong-Sue from my dear West Valley BRN group for encouraging me to attend the meeting.
