What is Rabbit Plane?
Rabbit Plane is a guided community translation & localization program that aims to spread collaborative localization practices used daily by the experts at Culture Flipper. This is Culture Flipper’s mission-driven project to make our high-end collaborative localization capabilities accessible to anyone in the world.
The previous round of Rabbit Plane had a high screening threshold, which resulted in a single-level group consisting mostly of localization industry professionals. Our hearts sank when we couldn’t accept passionate aspiring translators and writers who wanted to participate. We got numerous inquiries about offering the program for novices with near-zero experiences in localization.
Yes, you have been heard.
In Round 2, we will have multiple levels of groups and multiple roles in each group so that you can be assigned to the right group for the right role(s) based on your test results. Each group will consist of the following roles: Bilingual Translators, Monolingual Song Lyrics Writers/Musicians, Project Coordinators and Terminologists.
For creators, Rabbit Plane is a safer quality-assuring option for scalable localization of nuanced content than localizing via AI or machine translations (MT) with/without single-step editing only. The Mentees collaboratively edit the AI-/MT renditions and recreate a localized version in another language. Then they receive feedback from our experts for quality assurance.
